EAS build fails: "You already have a current iOS Distribution certificate" / distribution certificate limit reached

Apple allows a small number of active distribution certificates per team (historically 2–3). Old projects, departed teammates, CI systems, and previous EAS setups each may have created one, so EAS can't generate a new certificate for this app.
